Growing up with Gifts

My first recollection of what I wanted to pursue when I grew up was when I was about four years old. We lived in Ballard, WA. I was raised by my two parents, Wade Avery DeShaw and Jacqueline Jean Helvey. We had a nice home in a community filled with families and kids. I was the oldest of the three girls. Michelle was next in line, and the baby was Dennise, whom we called Dee Dee. I had a half-sister, six years older than me, from my father’s prior marriage; her name was Chloe.

I realized I could see colors not only in people and animals, but also in all living plant life. Some days it was easier than others to see the colors. I began to associate colors with the moods of people and things. I noticed that when my mother was angry, she had a red aura, and when she was sad, it became a dirty or murky color. My father always seemed to have a purple, blue, or white aura around him.

I never thought I was the only one who saw colors or auras. Everything had a glow; it wasn’t until I was around four years old and mentioned it to my father that I noticed a red color around my mother. He explained to me that Jesus had a halo that not everyone could see and that I had a gift that allowed me to see the energy coming from my mom. He explained to me that not everyone is blessed with that ability. He said he could only see colors on occasion. He then asked me what the colors meant to me, but I really didn’t know at such a young age. I knew from that day forward, I was a little bit different. The only person I spoke to about different things that would arise was my father. He seemed to have received messages that came from the source, as I now call it.

Days and months and years went by, and I began to realize that my father had a gift he was sharing with me. We became involved with the Aquarium Foundation, a church that resonated with many of the topics my father and I had discussed. I realized my father was a teacher and a hands-on healer; he was also a listener and counselor towards boys from fatherless homes. Many of my classmates enjoyed spending time at our home and my father’s shop, located in the basement, as well as his auto-repair shop. He worked on not only cars, but also TV sets, motorcycles, bikes, and anything that needed fixing. He had a knack for it.

I learned about Edgar Casey and his talents, which my father took after. On occasion, I was introduced to an Alchemist named Dr. Goekee in Seattle. He had all kinds of equipment that was very different than our traditional Dr. Palmasen in Ballard. He took hair samples, performed muscle testing, and administered various herbs to my father. I took an interest in the tools he used, and most were frequency-related. Later, I learned more about his ability to detect imbalances in the human body. I will provide more details in the future.

We had a gathering at our house that involved dedicating a room in our basement for a seance. We would gather people about once a month. There were people who attended who were introduced at the Aquarium Foundation, and in later years, a Keith Reinhart was introduced at an early age as the head of the church. He was nineteen when he became involved, and I was about six years younger, around the age of twelve. My father would go into a trance, and we, the master spirit, were called in to provide information to those attending.

Now, a note about my mother: she was a very talented woman who loved to do what was called a Party Plan with a company called Tupperware. My father would write down the amount the party would collect in sales the night of the party. She would open it when she got home, and he would be close to the amount within pennies. That always interested me, because I could look at someone and know if they were sick or if illness had set in, or maybe to warn of something about to happen. My mother chose to be active in the UFO groups in Seattle, we sometimes had meetings at our house and visits up to Mt Rainer for sightings. She helped with the newsletter, and we had a printing press that would publish monthly information at times. I think it was called a lithograph machine, type up the newsletter, and run it through the drum.

My mother, Jackie, was very supportive of what my father did, and he was of joining in on the UFO information. We always had a telescope in the backyard and often documented sightings. When the stars were out and the sky was clear, there would be a lot of activity in the skies. UFOs became a part of our family discussions.
