Born in Ballard General Hospital on December 4, 1948, my journey began in the picturesque landscape of Washington State. Born in Ballard Hospital on December 4, 1948. lived in the same house in the Seattle Area for 18 years. I then started my journey of addresses Anacortes, Ballard, and Bothell, each place a chapter filled with laughter and memories. Bellevue offered me serene evenings, while Bellingham was a hub of youthful energy, and Whatcom Community College. I found solace on Camano Island and joy in Edmonds.
As time passed, I explored beyond my roots, experiencing vibrant cultures in San Francisco and Oakland, the sun-soaked landscapes of Palm Springs, and the charm of Big Bear. My adventures took me even further, from Cottonwood in Sedona to the bustling heart of Kansas City.
Traveling to every state and venturing into Canada, my passport opened the door to England, Ireland, Fiji, and Australia through my work with TWA and Standard Airways. My life was rich with experiences, including living in Mexico and Australia with my husband, Larry, and our three children, Jason, Tonya, and Jennifer.
With each place I called home, I gathered stories, friendships, and lessons, all of which reflect a life fully lived and deeply cherished.
Most of the places I lived were homes open to others and a place for kids to play. I had many businesses started in my garage or in a building on the property. I had businesses I could operate on my own hours and schedule, and I was active in their PTA groups when the children were in school. I found joy in doing artwork and teaching children to be creative without the TV set being on all the time. When we traveled with the children, fortunately, they enjoyed reading. While in Australia with them for several months, our daughter Tonya was into reading mature books on Eastern philosophy, which was very impressive at the time. Lopsang Ramptha was known to have published at least nineteen books that she read during that time period. My other two children, Jason and Jennifer, were more into playing with other children and exploring the outdoors. When we returned from our Australian trip, the cutest sayings would come out in conversations, the one that hit home was, (give it a go, a well-used Australian saying.
So, when someone asks me where I was born and where I’ve lived, here is what and where I can remember. More than I realized. Having many different businesses. Let’s see what’s on your list. I have yet to meet anyone, other than a military family, who has had as many addresses as I do in memory. Each place having it’s own heart filled meaning to me. They have all helped me connect to my source, realizing it it within me everywhere I go.
